With a penchant for business management, love for Biology, and influenced by her mother in her passion towards skincare, it is no wonder why Pauline Ng decided to merge passion and expertise
by starting her own facial spa at the age of 23. At 26, Porcelain, helmed by Pauline crossed S$1 million in revenue and over the next few years, continued to push the boundaries of the company,
growing it from a 2 man company to a team of 45.
In 2016, Pauline was recognized by the inaugural Teochew Entrepreneur Award and won as the Grand Winner in the Promising category. She was the only female and also the youngest amongst
the other contenders, receiving the prestigious award from DPM Tharman Shamugaratnam. While her peers went on to pursue their careers after graduation, Pauline had decided to forgo a job opportunities at Melbourne-based HR consultancy firm and at another international marketing firm to take the road less travelled, despite the difficult economic times in 2009.
Inspired by her mother’s conviction to help promote natural beauty and dedication to help people who have suffered from troubled skin, the mother-daughter duo decided to set up Porcelain, The Face Spa, in 2009. Through this, Pauline hopes to advocate natural beauty with minimal use of make-up, but instead through a customized skincare regime to correct, not conceal facial flaws.
